High Throughput Discovery of Metal Hydrides for Hydrogen Storage

A screening method employing a silicon based micro-fabricated array of independently controllable hotplates has been used to screen new complex metal hydride materials. The method allows the capacity and decomposition temperature of the hydride to be obtained over a wide range of composition. The reversibility of hydrogenation can also be investigated up to 1Bar in a high pressure cell attached to the high-throughput synthetic chamber.
