John is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow investigating novel catalytic materials with potential fuel cell applications, by utilising high throughput combinatorial synthesis and screening methodologies. He is also involved with other projects within the group including corrosion studies and scanning tunnelling microscopy. During his PhD, he employed surface science techniques (XPS and LEED) to investigate the structure of W (100) - Cu surface alloys and their electrocatalytic activity. In addition he also investigated the high-throughput discovery of non-noble fuel cell anode materials. His undergraduate masters degree is in Chemistry, obtained from Southampton. This degree course included an industrial placement at Voller Energy, a fuel cell company based in Basingstoke, UK.

Scientific Interests: Combinatorial Synthesis and Screening, Electrocatalysis, Fuel Cells, Surface Science, Model Catalysts, Thin Films.
